When writing Megamix we were in a turbulent and emotional period. It was a time where music took us in lots of different directions. A manic, bumpy road where highs were closely followed with lows. Megamix sounds like the lingering end of summer and the demo's we made took us to the island Ibiza for the last sun to catch. Our trip to the island forced us into one and that's how we were able to finish our tracks, the video's and the artwork. At the time we did everything from (post-)production to mixing the tracks by ourselves. It's pretty easy to spot that we were still learning and growing, but overall this was the best experiment of our lifetime. We will never forget the first full album that made us proud of who we are as a band.

INFANT
Infant was the first EP we made. As the title implies we were at the early stages of creating music and still discovering“our sound”. Infant sounds playful but at the same time pretty dark. You can hear the profound core of what Rumours became. We only made a humble cassette as a release medium. At the time we were surrounded by a lot of new upcoming DIY bands. It felt a bit like a musical community, a small but thriving underground scene in Ghent. It was a period where we had the space and time to experiment as a (live)band. We just left school, had no money or dedicated live instruments, but also no big worries. The world was at our feet and we were ready to release our music. An honest first shout for people to discover our existence, that is what we think you'll discover.

LAST NIGHT
What started as an in-between-song, turned out to be an important musical turning point for us as a band. Last Night was a song or turn we didn’t knew we could make as a band. We always aspired to capture our love for nostalgic vibes and it felt that we finally captured some of it. With every song, we’ve always started from scratch. Every single beat or synth was built from zero. Being an electronic band, we know the history of how electronic music entered the world. Mostly by sampling old funk drum patterns . Entire genres were built on that idea. We had the rough idea of the song and suddenly out of nowhere, we took an iconic funkbreak, chopped and mixed it, resampled it and the foundation was built. From the vocal lines until the minitaur bass synth, we felt this song included everything we stand for as a band.

HOW MANY ROSES
It's hard to describe this period. Before writing this EP we were writing a second album, but life happened and hit us in the face. We were forced to start over and therefore had to write new songs to get our minds straight. We wrote How many roses as a threesome and didn't know where it would lead us. How many roses is a fast rage of strong emotions and was a big challenge for us as a band and as individuals. Due to the weight and confusion of that period we forced ourselves to deliver and in the end we can proudly say it made us so much stronger. How many roses saved us as a band and helped us to get over an emotional breakup and insecurity. Musically we can say it pushed us in the right direction and inspired us to get even deeper in our productions.
